Electric vehicle charging supplier Voltix is supporting the roll-out of more home charge points across Scotland

Scotland, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and cultural heritage, is embracing the revolution of electric vehicles (EVs) as part of its commitment to combating climate change. However, as the demand for EVs rises, the accessibility of electric car chargers becomes a crucial concern in making this sustainable shift a reality.

EV charger supplier Voltix has recognised the need for fast home EV chargers making commuting much easier and more convenient.

Barry Souden from Voltix EV Chargers said: “While significant strides have been made, the scarcity of charging infrastructure remains a concern, particularly in remote areas. Our solutions are designed to remove the range anxiety and reluctance from some car owners to make the switch to an EV.”

As of June 28th, 2021, Scotland had 2,558 public EV charging points, accounting for 10.4% of the UK total. While progress has been made, the shortage of charging stations, especially in rural regions, persists.

The complexities surrounding the establishment of an extensive EV charging network are manifold. Infrastructure limitations, such as necessary grid upgrades, can slow down the expansion of charging stations.

Voltix offers well-known brands ready for installation, backed by trained professionals. A Pod Point EV charger “Solo 3 For Home” by Voltix is available in two connection types and three models, outpacing standard plugs. Whether opting for a universal socket or a tethered version, Solo 3 accommodates all plug-in vehicles, fostering convenience and accessibility.

Mr Souden added: “A standout feature of Solo 3 is its capacity to adjust charging to prevent home electrical overload during high-energy demand, maintaining appliance usage without compromising charging speed or safety.

“The Pod Point App further enhances the experience, offering features like charge scheduling and remote updates via Wi-Fi. The app also provides insights into charging activity and costs. Safety is paramount, with over-current and fault protection, wet gun protection, and dual power relays.”

Voltix’s products come with a three-year warranty, extendable to five years, alongside remote diagnostics and support ensuring a seamless, hassle-free charging journey.
