After several years of collaborative efforts with more than 70 companies, trade partners and associations of the beauty and personal care industry, Beiersdorf proudly announced its implementation of the EcoBeautyScore for NIVEA and Eucerin. More precisely, the specific product scores will be displayed online on the respective brand websites to provide full transparency to consumers on the environmental impact behind.
Vincent Warnery, CEO of Beiersdorf, stated: “Sustainability is a team sport. It requires joint efforts across the whole industry to shape a more sustainable future together. And Sustainability needs to be consumer centric. The EcoBeautyScore is a great testament to the power of collaboration, while bringing real added value to our consumers.”
“We are thrilled to see the hard work of the past years result in such a concrete and unique tool,” Dr. Gitta Neufang, Chief R&D Officer, continued. “This joint initiative is a significant step forward, and we are grateful for the collaboration across more than 70 industry partners. It will create a lasting impact and positive change.”
Online, NIVEA has implemented the EcoBeautyScore on its Face Care products in the first European markets, such as France, Germany and UK (more to follow). The scores can be accessed by consumers on the product detail pages of the local NIVEA Websites. Due to Beiersdorf’s strong efforts in the past years to rework product formulas and packaging towards a lower footprint, 99% of NIVEA’s Face Care assortment received A and B scores.
For Eucerin, the scores are accessible on www.Eucerin.com and will be rolled out across Europe during 2025. Also here, Beiersdorf’s intense measures on formula and packaging level result in excellent scores: 100% of Eucerin’s Face Care products received an A or B score for their environmental impact.
