DNV recognised for sustainability

DNV, the independent assurance and risk management provider, has been positioned in the leaders’ quadrant in Verdantix’s newly released Green Quadrant: ESG & Sustainability Assurance Services 2024 report.

The report benchmarked 14 of the most prominent ESG and sustainability assurance providers globally. To qualify companies needed to demonstrate that they could meet the diverse needs of large, complex organisations, this required a minimum of 1,000 full-time employees, a global presence and the capabilities to deliver both limited and reasonable assurance services across at least three of the quadrants four key service lines.

Within this group, DNV was ranked among the top five for its comprehensive, innovative and sector-specific sustainability assurance services. DNV’s strong technical expertise and sector-specific knowledge earned it the top score in carbon emissions assurance, reflecting its extensive experience across corporate, project and product levels, as well as its pioneering work with industry leaders.

“At DNV, our commitment to supporting clients on their journey toward a sustainable future is embedded across our entire organisation, and we are honoured to be recognised as a Leader in the Verdantix ESG and Sustainability Assurance Report,” said Geir Fuglerud, CEO – Supply Chain & Product Assurance at DNV. “This acknowledgment reflects our dedication to quality, innovation, and impactful solutions.

“As businesses across all sectors face mounting pressures to address environmental and sustainability challenges, we remain steadfast in substantiating claims and providing reliable, sector-specific assurance services that help build trust across industries on a global scale.”

DNV provides carbon emissions assurance at the product level, leveraging its expertise in hard-to-abate sectors and the value chains within food, beverage, retail and aquaculture. With deep industry knowledge, DNV delivers specialized services to help clients navigate the growing complexities of reporting and regulatory requirements.

“Over the last five years, firms have faced heightened scrutiny of their ESG and sustainability performance. Regulators, investors and customers are demanding more and better-quality sustainability information from firms.  As a result, sustainability assurance has emerged as a critical tool to help businesses build trust with stakeholders, as well as a way for regulators to safeguard consumers and end-users against greenwashing,” commented Verdantix.
